SPT 2.5 cu.ft Compact Refrigerator in Stainless

Buyer Evaluations

I've had this fridge for about two weeks now and it's been actually awesome. I bought it for my office and mostly to stop me from eating out, so I had a couple of criteria. Very first, it had to be fairly smaller footprint, but huge adequate to store a great amount of true food, such as leftovers, some fruit veg, and supplies to make snacks with such as PBJ. Second, it had to have a true compressor, 1 that will cool nicely below the ambient temperature as the office creating gets fairly warm in the summer and I actually hate when food goes bad. Third, I didn't want the unit to give up a bunch of space to a can delivery program, since I do not drink ordinarily have canned drinks around. So, that is how I ended up at the SPT, it's the only one particular I located that fits all these criteria. I'd never heard of SPT just before getting this fridge and quite honestly, if it had the exact same functions as all the other fridges I'd observed (researched for two weeks), I almost certainly would not have purchased it. But, given that it had every little thing I was searching for, I decided to take a likelihood and I'm glad I did.
Initial, the aesthetics it really is a vertical rectangular shape, modestly desirable seeking, generally it looks like a little black fridge with a stainless door. I was a bit shocked at the size, it is really a bit taller than I was expecting and the black does tends to make it appear a tiny monolithic. The unit actually looks larger than it honestly is, I was shocked to acquire that it fits nicely beneath my desk. The Stainless Steel finish on the door is not really as polished as the vastly more pricey full-size GE fridge I've got at home, but I was pleasantly surprised at how beneficial it looked, particularly contemplating the cost! This unit is solidly built and is surprisingly lightweight, which was terrific for moving it about the 1st day, figuring out exactly where it will need to go. The door, as shipped, opens on the left, but it looked like a fairly hassle-free job to switch sides (haven't needed to) and SPT included added plastic inserts for covering up the holes should really this be expected, a good touch. Door was protected with plastic film and all three shelves and the ice maker were taped down to stop them sliding about.
On to functionality the fridge operates! It got the four iced teas I place in it ice cold inside only a handful of hours of getting plugged in and I've got the unit set at four, the factory preset median setting and it functions awesome. Stuff down low in the fridge was kept nicely cold, the ham I place up near the icemaker had frost in the package, but the meat wasn't frozen. Note to self, meat goes lower in the fridge. The lower door shelf holds 4 Truthful Tea bottles, but the wire holder swings out to hold larger items. The best door shelf is a tiny shorter and has a fixed bar, so PB J go up there. Inside shelves are made of white plastic-coated wire and properly spaced. The freezer holds at least a trio of common sized juice boxes it is wide, but not particularly tall, so low items operate perfect. One other quite cool issue is, the power consumption rating for this fridge is really beneath the lowest range on the chart. This makes it particularly effective, which is not a element for me, but I can see this getting a plus for someone becoming challenged about its power consumption. Offered how properly it keeps my food cold, it must be rather nicely insulated to realize such low consumption.
Points of note:
1) This unit only has one particular leveling foot, at the front appropriate corner. This is possibly not a problem for most people, but my office floor is as flat as a Ruffles potato chip, so levelling the fridge necessary shims under the front left foot.
two) Power cord is only about 5Ft long, when once again, not a challenge in most offices, but I would honestly have liked a longer one. Extension cord to the rescue.
3) Unit isn't silent, but it is not loud either. Some persons have complained about other fridges getting loud, I don't uncover this one to be unpleasant, it's like low-level white noise in the background. If I get in early, I can hear the fridge, but once the workplace wakes up, it's inaudible.
four) Unit came very nicely packed in an huge box, strapped and taped closed. I was impressed, but I did have to lie the fridge on its side to get it out of the box.
5) This hasn't been a problem, but the manual says that will need to the fridge lose power, it won't come back on automatically.

I just received my mini fridge a few days ago, and it has reside up to my standards. It is fairly especially rather and the inside is designed to fit alot of items. I would suggest this item to any individual!
